Kukwa, Parks, Butler All-Ohioans

Two area players received recognition on the Associated Press Division II All-Ohio boys basketball team and another was chosen for distinction in Division I on the teams announced Monday.

Perry junior Anthony Kukwa was named to the second team. The 6-foot-4 Kukwa scored 19.4 points for the Pirates this year.

Lakeside senior Emilio Parks was selected to the special-mention list in Division I. He averaged 23.7 points per game and more than 14 rebounds per game.

Edgewood senior Sean Butler was chosen to the honorable-mention list in Division II. Despite missing five games, Butler returned to average more than 20 points per game and became just the second Edgewood boys player to top 1,000 career points.

No area players were recognized in Division I.

All-Ohio teams in Divisions III and IV will be announced today.
