The Conneaut Post 151 American Legion baseball squad had a grand time at Streetsboro on Sunday, sweeping a doubleheader.
Mike Ryan was the man in the opener, hurling a no-hitter, striking out three and walking only one in a 14-0 romp.
Travis Kume slugged a grand slam for the locals and Cody Blood socked a two-run blast. Greg Moher had a pair of doubles and scored three times, while Mitch Neubauer had two hits. Nick Scott had a double and scored twice, Josh Shorts had three RBI and Aaron Andes scored twice.
In the nightcap, Tyler Rice worked the final two innings on the bump as Post 151 rallied for a 5-4 triumph, scoring three times in the sixth and once in the seventh.
Shorts’ two-run single tied the game in the sixth and Rice drove in Scott with the winning run in the seventh.
Chad Bucci had two hits and Scott spanked a double.
Post 151 (9-11) will play at Strongsville on Tuesday, first pitch slated for 6:15 p.m.

At this point in the baseball season, there are two types of teams remaining — those that are happy to still be playing, and those that expect to still be playing.
