Jefferson Post 152 wrapped up its pool-play games in style Saturday at the Mentor Firecracker Tournament, knocking off the Erie Braves, 7-4.
The locals used a five-hit fifth inning to roll to the win.
Jon York had a double and three RBI for Post 152, while Adam Placek had three hits and two ribbies and Brian Jewell crossed the plate twice.
York was the man on the bump for Post 152, working the first five innings to notch the victory, allowing four runs, striking out one and walking three.
Placek charged in from the bullpen to record the save, working the final two frames and surrendering one hit, striking out one and walking two.
Post 152 (12-10) will begin championship play today against Willoughby at 10:45 a.m. at Lake Catholic High School.
