Sandlot Roundup: Nate great for NAPA Wahoos

The Jefferson NAPA Indians plated eight runs in the home half of the first in downing the Reese Machine Diamondbacks, 11-6, Thursday night at Evans Field to claim the Saybrook Youth Athletic Association minor boys tournament championship.

Nathan Hall doubled among two hits, drove in two runs and scored twice, David Moore blasted a grand slam and Matt Stuper smashed a two-run homer for the Tribe (15-1). Ozzie Campbell and Tyler Williams each had two hits Gaven Pae added another. Isaac Zielinski contributed to the win with his first hit of the season.

Cameron DeLuca slapped two hits, scored twice and drove in three runs, Kyle Van Allen had two hits and drove in two runs and Mylan Kanicki scored twice and had a hit for the Diamondbacks (7-8-1). Brock Reese added a hit.



Senior BB

Winning pitcher Jeremy Smith smacked four hits as the Saybrook Mariners dropped the Twinsburg Thunder, 14-4, in Great Lakes Baseball League play.

Drew Morrison and Nick Pae each had three hits and Tim Rout added two for the Mariners.
