CONNEAUT —
A Pennsylvania fugitive tracked to Conneaut and arrested this week is awaiting an extradition hearing that could send him back to Erie County, Pa., according to reports.
Gary Ratliff, 40, was found at a West Main Road trailer court around 12:30 p.m. Monday by Conneaut police, along with members of the Erie County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Marshal’s Service. Information received by officers indicated Ratliff could be found in a house on the city’s west side, said Conneaut Detective Michael Colby.
“We spent the better part of the morning conducting house-to-house searches,” he said. “We got information he was in a trailer.”
The owner at one address gave officers permission to enter and Ratliff was found inside, Colby said. “He was arrested without incident,” he said.
Ratliff was wanted on various parole and probation violations, according to reports. He was recently listed among Erie County’s most wanted persons, according to reports.
Currently housed in Conneaut’s jail, Ratliff may also face additional charges once the law director’s office complete a review of a police report, officials said. No extradition hearing had been scheduled as of late Wednesday afternoon, according to a Conneaut Municipal Court spokeswoman.
Ratliff is a former Conneaut resident, according to municipal court files.
