PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP —
Two dozen firefighters battled a brush fire Saturday evening in a thickly wooded area between Plymouth Gageville and Sheffield roads, said Plymouth Township Fire Chief Bill Strubbe.
Strubbe said firefighters were made aware of the fire around 6:30 p.m. and expected to be on the scene well into the evening and probably have to come back today.
He said the fire was in an area that had been logged four or five years ago and the vegetation is very thick and difficult to maneuver.
Strubbe said there was no risk of the fire spreading to any residential areas at this time.
