ASHTABULA — There was nothing like a little fun in the sun Sunday afternoon, as friends Sean Figueroa. 8, Damontrey Archer, 9, and Saivion Colbert, 7, dug out their light jackets for a game of “it tag.”
The sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky as the boys scrambled to catch each other on the large grassy lawn outside an Ashtabula apartment complex on Carpenter Road, but the boys were anxious for a little less grass and a lot more snow.
“I like the warm weather because we can run,” Sean said, “but you can make snowballs out of snow.”
Saivion said he is partial to snow, because where there is snow, there is Santa Claus.
“I really like winter because I really like Christmas,” he said. “Santa comes when the snow comes.”
Don’t worry Saivion, snow is coming to Ashtabula County sooner than some people may want.
The National Weather Service predicts today will be cloudy with a chance of afternoon showers and a high temperature of 51 degrees.
Tuesday brings much of the same with a possible high temperature of 55 degrees. Rain showers are likely Wednesday and Thursday with a predicted high temperature of 50 degrees.
The snow will come late Thanksgiving Day, with a low temperature of 35 degrees, NWS reports, and shoppers will likely encounter snow showers Friday and Saturday.
