‘Good News’ coming to Jefferson

JEFFERSON — The Jefferson Players will present some “Good News” this weekend in their new high school auditorium.

“Good News,” a musical from the book by Lawrence Schwab and B.G. DeSylva, will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday, in the new Jefferson High School on South Poplar Street.

“Kelli Olesky and I have put a lot of extra time and effort into putting a production together in a new building,” said co-director Christy Seymour. “But when we walked into our beautiful new auditorium, we knew all the hassles and stress were worth it,” she said. “Our kids will make this auditorium and the community proud.”

“Good News” is about the thrill that comes once in a lifetime from scoring the winning touchdown for the varsity team when all seems lost.

“The new auditorium allows for our new and trained talent to sound even better than ever,” said Nicole Hamper, senior, who plays Patricia Bingham, Tom Marlowe’s girlfriend.

“I’m really excited about the play, and being on stage with my best friend, Emily Jeppesen, is a real joy,” said Travis Ellsworth, junior, who plays Tom Marlowe. “I love our directors, and the music is fantastic. So come see the play.”

Tickets for “Good News” are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for students.
