ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — A cooking fire damaged the kitchen of a home at 3622 Blake Road Saturday around 1:26 p.m., according to Ashtabula Township Fire Department reports.
Firefighters found smoke coming from the front door of the building when they arrived on the scene at 1:32 p.m., reports state. Firefighters entered the building and found the fire confined to the kitchen.
Reports show firefighters brought the fire under control quickly and checked the ceiling and walls for any possible exterior fire and ventilated the kitchen. There were no injuries during the fire and it was determined the fire originated while people were cooking.
Firefighters left the scene by 2:20 p.m., reports state.
