ASHTABULA — A 30-year-old man was seriously injured Tuesday night during an argument with a woman in his Harbor Ridge apartment.

Police and ambulance workers were called at 10:11 p.m. to the 1900 block of Lambros Lane after a caller reported a man was assaulted and bleeding profusely, according to Ashtabula Police Department reports.

When police arrived, residents talked in small groups in the parking lot moments after the victim was taken away in a Community Care ambulance.

Police officers spotted a large blood trail from the victim to an apartment in the B-wing of the complex, where a fight allegedly took place, Sgt. Joseph Cellitti said.

The victim and a woman were arguing and “he punched a picture on the wall and broke it,” Cellitti said. “He struck broken glass and cut his arm.”

Police on the scene said the victim lost a lot of blood; in fact, it looked like someone “turned on a spicket of blood” in the apartment, reports show.

As residents lingered and speculated about what happened, police guarded the entrance to the B wing of the complex. The woman sat in a police car, talking to officers for more than an hour.

On Wednesday, the police did not know the condition of the victim.
