Crash clogs I-90, injures 3 in Kingsville Township

KINGSVILLE TOWNSHIP — A vehicle crash on Interstate 90 in Kingsville Township late Friday morning injured three people and created a traffic jam that stretched into Conneaut, according to reports.

Details were sketchy Friday afternoon, but the Ohio State Highway Patrol post in Saybrook Township said a two-vehicle accident in the westbound lanes occurred a short distance west of the Conneaut-Kingsville line. Three people were transported to hospitals, but none suffered life-threatening injuries, an OHP spokeswoman said.

Identities of the victims, as well as particulars about the crash, were not immediately known.

The crash brought traffic to a halt, and vehicles soon were backed up nearly to Route 7 in Conneaut. Motorists could be seen exiting their vehicles. Multiple tow trucks were sent to the scene, witnesses said.

Troopers were dispatched to the scene around 11:30 a.m., and traffic began moving about two hours later, according to reports.

Interim Kingsville Township fire chief Neal Stewart could not be immediately reached for comment Friday afternoon.
