ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — Two firefighter unions are teaming up Tuesday to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Locals 651 and 2710 of the International Association of Fire Fighters, located in Conneaut and Ashtabula Township, respectively, will be collecting donations for the MDA at a "Fill The Boot" event Tuesday at the Applebee's Restaurant at the Ashtabula Towne Center on Route 20 in Ashtabula Township. Firefighters will accept donations between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
People who plan to visit the restaurant on Tuesday can get coupons in advance that authorizes the restaurant to donate 15 percent of their bill to the MDA. Coupons may be obtained at either fire station.
Local 651 is headquartered at Fire Station 1 in Conneaut City Hall, Main and Buffalo streets, while Local 2710 is based at 2718 N. Ridge East in Ashtabula Township.
