Sock Hop is this evening after all

CONNEAUT — A Conneaut City Hall official was premature in announcing the annual Sock Hop would be postponed a week because of a soggy weather forecast, said organizer Darlyene Brisley.

The show will go on tonight as planned, Brisley said.

If rain does arrive, the event will be moved to Saturday night, she said. Wet weather on Saturday would mean the Hop would be held the following weekend, Brisley said.

The fourth annual Hop will be held 6 to 10 p.m. at Main and Broad streets. Entertainment includes The Kingpins, Mark Carr and his tribute to Elvis Presley, Crazy Rhythms-karaoke with Bonnie, and DJ Max.

Hula hoop and bubble-gum blowing contests will be held, as well as a competition for the best 1950s and 1960s outfits.

Classic cars, trucks and motorcycles will also be on display.
