Class of 2009 last for Memorial Field as Geneva graduates
GENEVA — The Geneva High School Class of 2009 tossed their gray and red mortarboards into the air Sunday afternoon following commencement ceremonies at Memorial Field.
Because the Geneva Eagles will use the Geneva area Recreational Educational Trust (GaREAT) sports campus in Harpersfield Township from now on, Sunday’s commencement may have been the last at Memorial Field.
Valedictorian Kathryn Pristov and Salutatorian Cassandra Baker spoke about the past and future, along with commencement speakers Jessica Jablonski, Amanda Murphy and Alexandria Webb.
The top ten students in the GHS Class of 2009 in alphabetical order are: Jennie Avsec, Cassandra Baker, Nola Bliss, Breana Freeman, Amanda Gibson, Brian Jewell, Arielle McClung, Stephanie Phillips, Kathryn Pristov, and Brandy Riha.

Formal charges filed against men in domestic dispute
The father who allegedly took a shot at his daughter’s ex-boyfriend Saturday night after a domestic altercation was released from jail Tuesday, Municipal Court officials said.
Harvey Jones, 49, of Ashtabula, was charged with felonious assault and discharging a firearm within the city limits, court officials said. -

GOTL wastewater to get upgrade
