CONNEAUT — A brand-new True North convenience store could start taking shape in about three months, according to Conneaut administrators.
The city’s Planning Commission is scheduled to receive information on the project at its Dec. 2 regular meeting, according to Luciana Ratermann, planning and zoning manager. If the commission gives its blessing, the project will be forwarded to the Zoning Board of Appeals for review on Dec. 11, she said.
The existing store, located at the corner of State and Mill streets, will be demolished to make room for a 3,000-square foot building, five fuel pumps — including one diesel — and a car wash.
Buildings adjoining the store site will be demolished to make room for the project, officials have said. Barring snags, work could begin around March 1, Ratermann said.
The project could be the second high-profile business upgrade at the intersection within the past several months. A CVS Pharmacy across the street opened earlier this year.
