Robert G. David is the new president of University Hospitals’ Conneaut and Geneva medical centers, according to a statement.
Interim president at both locations since June, the new role takes effect immediately, said Dr. Fred C. Rothstein UH executive vice president.
“Mr. David has demonstrated his leadership ability throughout his career and complemented University Hospitals’ mission, vision and values with his unyielding dedication and service to the communities of Conneaut and Geneva,” Rothstein said.
“In his new role, Rob is responsible for the strategic direction and overall performance of UH’s Critical Access hospitals located in Ashtabula County,” Rothstein said in the statement. “Both of these community medical centers offer adult medical/surgical services, around-the-clock emergency care and rehabilitation services.”
David succeeds Laurie Delgado, who stepped down this past summer to oversee the UH Richmond Medical Center in Richmond Heights.
“Rob played a significant role in obtaining the Critical Access Hospital designation for both hospitals from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services,” Rothstein said. “Rob was selected by the Ohio Hospital Association on two occasions as the finance delegate from Ohio at the National Critical Access Hospital meeting sponsored by CMS.”
David joined UH in 1996 as a senior financial analyst and was promoted to director of finance at UH Geneva Medical Center in 1997, according to the statement. Two years later, he handled the same job at the Conneaut location.
David has a degree in business administration from West Virginia University and is a certified public accountant. David and his wife, have three daughters and live in Ashtabula.
David could not be reached for comment Monday afternoon.
