ROCK CREEK — Village officials canceled Monday’s regular council meeting due to the power outage in the area.
Village Clerk/Treasurer Teresa Cumberledge said Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co. officials advised the village power would not be restored before Wednesday at the earliest and Friday at the latest. Cumberledge said the majority of the village is without power.
“There are a few homes on Lawton and West Water that have it because they are on a different grid, but pretty much everyone else is without,” she said.
Cumberledge said she lost power at her home at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. A lot of Roaming Shores is without power too, she said.
Rock Creek has rescheduled its meeting for Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.
Other communities in southern Ashtabula County were also reporting outages. Areas of Andover were without power Monday as well as Orwell. Pymatuning Area Local Schools were in session but Grand Valley Local Schools were closed because of the outage. Jefferson officials reported no outages in the area.
