ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — In July, lights on the lake mean boaters enjoying a warm summer evening, but come December, it will mean Lake Shore Park’s annual holiday light display.
Lights on the Lake committee chairman Michael Wayman, and committee member Paul Crease, just returned from Marion, Ind., and GP Designs to pick up new displays for Lights on the Lake.
“We took a couple of our displays to have GP work on enhancing them,” Wayman said. “We will most likely go back later this summer to pick up those two and to pick up some larger displays.”
A trucking firm delivered a tall lighted Christmas tree last week. The tree is 20 feet tall and about 10 feet across at its base.
“We hopefully will add height to it each year,” Wayman said. “Our goal is 50 feet to 60 feet.”
Lights on the Lake will be in its third season this holiday season.
“People are still coming forward to help with the project,” Wayman said. “There’s still an opportunity to sponsor a display. Just call the park office.”
