JEFFERSON - - Board members took care of various personnel issues at their regular meeting Tuesday.
At the recommendation of Superintendent Doug Hladek, Jr./Sr. high school Assistant Principal William Nye's administrative contract was renewed for a three-year period, effective July 1. Jefferson Elementary School Principal Kathryn Warner's administrative contract also was renewed for a period of one year, effective July 1.
Board members also approved resignations from several employees. Fifth grade Jefferson Elementary teacher Sara Steward resigned for the purpose of retirement, effective June 30. Steward has served the district for 35 years. Fifth grade Jefferson Elementary teacher Kathryn Seeley resigned for the purpose of retirement, effective June 30. Seeley has served the district for 30 years. Jefferson Jr./Sr. high school reading teacher Dianne Young resigned from her position for the purpose of retirement, effective June 30. Young has served the district for 11 years.
Jr./Sr. high school social studies teacher Donald Palm resigned from his position, effective June 30. Palm also resigned from his post as head volleyball coach, effective immediately, per his request. Board members also approved the resignation of Roberta Aston from her position as junior high soccer coach, effective for the 2007-2008 season, per her request.
Board President David Keep expressed his gratitude to all the employees who will be leaving the district.
"I want to thank all of the above for their service to the district," he said. "What really makes a district is it's employees."
Board members approved supplemental contracts for various athletic coaches as well as approved a classified substitute, Christina Pohto, for the remainder of the school year. Board members also approved Linda Hall and Jeanine Bartlett as home tutors for no more than five hours per week for the remainder of the school year.
