Ryan A. Elliott, accused of raping toddlers, is being held on $1 million bond

CONNEAUT — A 21-year-old Oregon man, charged with raping two toddlers, last weekend in Conneaut, remains in jail on a $1 million bond, a Conneaut Municipal Court spokeswoman said Friday.

Ryan A. Elliott, of Lebanon, Ore., was arraigned Friday morning by Conneaut Municipal Court Judge Thomas Harris on two charges of rape, a court spokeswoman said.

The charge is a first-degree felony, the spokeswoman said.

The judge set bond at $500,00, cash or surety on each charge, no 10 percent, she said.

Elliott did not appear in the courtroom.

Instead, the arraignment occurred via a video hookup between the court and city jail, where Elliott is being held.

Charges were filed with the court late Thursday afternoon.

Records indicate the crime occurred Sunday.

The victims are the daughters of Elliott’s girlfriend, said Conneaut Police Detective Sgt. Michael Colby, who investigated the case.

A relative of the girlfriend contacted police with some suspicions, he said.

The children did not require any special medical treatment, Colby said.
