SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP —
A quickly spreading grass fire was brought under control by three area fire departments, said Sheffield Fire Department Assistant Chief Alan Kohta.
Kohta said a small shed was destroyed along Sheffield Road near the Route 193 intersection and then a grass fire spread toward another home in the area.
“The grass fire probably went about 70 yards about two feet wide,” Kohta said. He said Plymouth and Monroe Township firefighters responded to the fire around 2:38 p.m. and were on the scene for more than an hour.
