CONNEAUT — Police in Conneaut are asking the public’s help in tracking down a motorist who last week fled the scene of an accident that injured the other driver.
Police are looking for a late 1980s Chevrolet pickup truck, either white or silver with a blue stripe, said Lt. Robert Zimmerman. The truck was driven by a white male, he said.
The pickup struck a vehicle around 1 p.m. Friday in the intersection of Main and Mill streets, then fled south on Route 7, Zimmerman said.
The other driver was treated at UH Conneaut Medical Center and released, Zimmerman said. Judging by the impact, the pickup truck probably sustained heavy front-end damage, he said.
People with information are asked to call the CPD’s confidential tip line (593-7423) or the regular non-emergency number (593-7440).
“Hopefully, somebody has seen this vehicle,” Zimmerman said.
