ORWELL — A ribbon cutting is scheduled at noon today to kick off the reopening celebration at Kauffman’s Tire at 431 E. Main St., said Brian Wilhite, the store’s marketing director.
“That’s one of our four retail centers in Ohio,” Wilhite said of the business, which was severely damaged by fire in October.
Wilhite said a tire business has been at that location since the 1920s and the company purchased the family business in 2004 and is excited about re-opening in the 17,000-square-foot facility.
The new building has a larger showroom and provides more bays for service to cars and trucks, Wilhite said. He said the business provides absolutely every service related to tires.
Wilhite said the company provides trucks for cars, tractor-trailers and even farm machinery. He said Kauffman
“We have a fleet of service vehicles,” Wilhite said, which service trucks and farm machinery on-site.
The grand reopening will start with the ribbon cutting and continue with a sale and a variety of activities today and Saturday, Wilhite said.
Customers will be able to have a barbecue luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, including service by the Grand Valley cheerleaders. He said the cheerleaders will receive the luncheon proceeds.
Wilhite said a Goodyear NASCAR show car will also be on-site for the event. He said people can sign up to win a ride on the Goodyear Blimp as well.
