CONNEAUT —
A branch office of Conneaut Savings Bank, located on the city’s west side, will close this fall because of decreased customer use, officials said in a statement issued Wednesday.
The branch at 382 W. Main Road, in the Conneaut Plaza Shopping Center, will shut its doors on Nov. 9. “The primary reason for the closure is decreased customer usage due to today’s technology, such as Internet banking, ATMs and direct deposits, including pension and payroll checks,” according to the statement.
No employees will be laid off, officials said. The ATM at the branch will stay in place, according to the report.
The branch opened in 1976, said Phil Heffelfinger, CSB president. The bank has no immediate plans for the property, he said.
