GENEVA — A 16-year-old boy faces four felony charges of rape and gross sexual imposition after he allegedly performed sex acts on a 21-year-old mentally disabled man, Geneva police reports show.
Last week the mothers of the victim and the suspect, who live together, came to the Geneva Police Department to discuss the allegations the 21-year-old made against the teen.
The victim, who communicates with help, his mother said, and was very clear in his allegations, police reports show.
The victim’s mother told police her son understands what sex is.
After initially denying the allegations, the teenager admitted to drinking vodka on Jan. 9 and giving some to the victim. The suspect told police he was “very drunk” at the time of the incident, even blacking out and forgetting blocks of time during the alleged sexual assault.
The Star Beacon does not identify juveniles who are suspected of crimes.
The victim told police he told the suspect to stop, but the suspect continued the sex acts, police reports show.
The suspect said does not remember the victim telling him to stop, nor does he remember making any threatening remarks to the victim about telling anyone about the incident, police reports show.
The suspect told police he “apologizes to (the suspect) every day, has been very sorry and regrets everything,” police reports show.
The teen-ager was taken to the Ashtabula County Youth Detention Center on Wednesday.
