MADISON TOWNSHIP — Madison Township police continue to investigate a home invasion that took place about 3:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Robert C. Schepley, 28, West Main Street, Madison Village, appeared in Painesville Municipal Court Feb. 11 and 16, and was charged with two counts of aggravated burglary and two counts of theft, court records report.

"There are at least two other suspects we have identified and the charges are being reviewed," said township police Detective Tim Doyle. "We believe a third suspect was possibly involved. And a vehicle had also been identified as being involved, which was close to the scene."

Doyle said two officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Parkview Drive for a complaint of a home invasion, in which the intruder was armed with a razor blade.

According to the report, two males and one female within the residence reported that Schepley broke into the home assaulted a male resident, then stole money and a cell phone.

Doyle said only one male resident sustained minor injury.

Footprints in the snow led officers to Schepley who was apprehended in a house within the 1500 block of Easton Avenue, a report stated. When taken into custody he did not offer a motive, Doyle said.

"He appeared to be surprised we collected so much evidence that linked him to the scene."

The detective said Schepley is acquainted with the residents of the Parkview home, and police believe the incident may be drug related.
