A new wine club offered by the Lodge and Conference Center at Geneva-on-the-Lake has enjoyed a successful launch.
Lodge General Manager Jeannette Petrolia told members of the Convention Facilities Authority on Friday that an email blast sent to 3,500 past guests generated 150 responses in just 10 days.
The club is called Crush, and membership is free. The amenities include two free wine glasses and $10 off two seats on the lodge’s wine shuttle during a stay at the lodge. Members will be provided with deals and discounts from the lodge, nearby wineries and partners. A quarterly newsletter will be sent by email.
An annual members’ only gala event is planned, as well.
The lodge is rolling out a new spa service this week, as well. An agreement with the nearby Lakehouse Inn Spa gives lodge guests access to the new spa’s full range of services.
The lodge has offered massages for several years and the CFA previously looked at adding a spa to the lodge itself.
“We did a modest business, but we didn’t feel as if we could grow it without additional investment,” Petrolia said.
The non-exclusive agreement provides the lodge with a percentage of the revenue from guests referred to Lakehouse.
Frequent guests at the lodge will start to notice a change in the look of the rooms. Petrolia said a new maintenance employee has been hired to replace the wall coverings in all guest rooms. The rooms will sport a lighter color on all four walls; they originally had three light walls and one dark accent wall.
The rooms also got a facelift from new bedspreads and a reconfiguring of existing furniture, moves suggested by the staff.
“It’s almost like a brand new room for a minimal cost,” she said. “We’ll be able to start sprucing up the rooms.”
