WAYNE TOWNSHIP —
During late Monday and early Tuesday, TAG task force investigators served a search warrant at 4112 Underwood Road. The search warrant was the result of a brief investigation conducted by Trumbull Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force into the cultivation of marijuana.
Investigators spoke with the residence’s occupant by phone to arrange the removal of dogs so investigators could enter the residence safely upon receipt of the search warrant.
A search of the residence resulted in the discovery of 234 marijuana plants of varying sizes and growth stages, multiple grow lamps, paraphernalia, marijuana seeds, generators, exhaust fans, a carbon dioxide canister, loose-cut marijuana, a horticulture magazine and a sign.
Investigators will dry the recovered drugs prior to sending them out to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation for testing. The results of the tests will determine the appropriate charges. Once lab tests are received, investigators will consult with the county prosecutor about charges.
The TAG Law Enforce-ment Task Force is a multi-county specialty crimes unit that focuses investigations on drug traffickers, firearm traffickers, gangs and homeland security.
Individuals are encouraged to report further suspicious activity to the TAG drug hotline at 330-675-7890 or 1-877-835-4375 or to its website at tagohio.com.
