CONNEAUT —
Business owners in Conneaut will have the opportunity to share ideas, praise and pans at a special meeting with city officials Thursday night at the Conneaut Human Resources Center, 327 Mill St.
An open forum to discuss economic development opportunities begins at 7 p.m. More than 20 business representatives have already indicated they will attend, said City Manager Tim Eggleston. The meeting is open to the public, and any business owner who did not receive an invitation is welcome to show up and participate, he said.
“We’re trying to get the word out,” Eggleston said. “We want to hear people’s ideas.”
The session is spearheaded by Ward 1 Councilman Doug Hedrick, chairman of council’s economic development committee.
“It’s an opportunity for people to speak and present some ideas,” Hedrick said at Monday’s City Council meeting. “(The forum’s) success will be based on the amount of conversation it generates.”
Representatives from some development-related county agencies will be on hand to share government resources available to local businesses, Hedrick said.
