ASHTABULA —
The flu vaccine is in good supply for the 2012-2013 season, said Ginny Ewing, nursing director at the Ashtabula City Health Department.
Manufacturers have reported no shortages for the upcoming flu season, Ewing said.
“We are happy to give flu vaccines here (at the Health Department) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, or at one of our nine locations now through mid-October,” she said.
At the clinics, Ashtabula residents will pay $20 for regular flu and nasal spray vaccines; $30 for intra-dermal shots, and $40 for high dose flu shots. Medicare Part B and Medicaid also are accepted for payment.
The high dose vaccine is available for seniors ages 65 and older.
The nasal spray is for people ages 2 to 49 years, who would prefer the nasal spray over the vaccine, and intra-dermal is available for ages 18 to 64.
Ohio’s influenza season typically lasts between January and March.
