Eastern Lake County law officials are busy this week responding to reports of burglaries.
On Tuesday, Lake County Sheriffís Office reported three burglaries, two in Perry Township on River and South Ridge roads, and a third on Vrooman Road in Leroy Township.
Making their way into the homes by forced entry through a rear window and/or door, jewelry was reported missing from the homes.
Deputies are on the look-out for suspects. Anyone with information should contact deputies at 350-5620.
In Madison Township, a Geneva man was apprehended after a burglary was reported about 2:24 p.m. Wednesday from County Line Road.
David L. Kutscher, 46, County Line Road, was arraigned in Painesville Municipal Court Thursday on three fifth-degree felony charges of breaking and entering, theft and vandalism.
Madison Township police Sgt. Ralf Caswell said they do not believe Kutscher acted alone and have pursued charges on another male who was with Kutscher, but got away.
Perry Village police and Ashtabula County deputies assisted with canines in searching for the suspects and the apprehension of Kutscher.
According to Caswell, the pair stole copper and electrical wiring from a County Line Road house.
Deputies encourage everyone to keep their doors and windows secured when not at home, always maintain adequate lighting on the exterior of the home to discourage criminals and report any unusual activity in the neighborhood.
They also recommend that residents keep good inventory of all personal belongings so an accurate report can be made if property becomes missing.
