JEFFERSON — Ashtabula County hazardous waste collection will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds, North Poplar Street.
Items included are: paint and paint products in 5-gallon containers or smaller (excessive quantities of paint containers may be charged); aerosols and adhesives/roof tar/driveway sealers; household cleaners such as acid and caustic products; household batteries, lead acid automotive batteries (limit four per vehicle); automotive fluids such as motor oil up to 5-gallon containers (prefer 1-gallon containers), antifreeze, brake fluid, grease, gasoline; pesticides in liquid, solids and aerosols; and mercury items such as thermometers, thermostats and elemental mercury.
Unacceptable items: tires, explosives, ammunition, gas cylinders, radioactive wastes and large quantities of unknown materials.
