Nursing facility offers fingerprinting

GENEVA — It may not be a scene from “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” but ink and fingerprints are a new part of business at Rae-Ann of Geneva Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Rae-Ann now will perform civilian background checks for use in obtaining employment, licensing or working as a volunteer, Rae-Ann admissions and marketing coordinator Beth Cheney said.

“We have purchased a National WebCheck electronic fingerprinting system,” Cheney said.

“The new equipment has the ability to conduct both state of Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification (and Investigation) and national Federal Bureau of Investigations background checks through electronic fingerprints.”

Cost is $32 for BCII fingerprinting or $45 for FBI fingerprinting, payable by cash or business check only. A valid driver’s license or Ohio identification is required.

Rae-Ann employee Tammy Lewis said fingerprinting often is needed for licensing permits and for anyone who will be working with children or the elderly.

“We see a lot of people who are maybe going into nursing school or will work at a preschool or day care or with the elderly,” she said.

Fingerprinting services at Rae-Ann Geneva Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, located at 839 W. Main St., are available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. For more information, call Tammy Lewis or Michelle Salyan (440-466-5733).
