Rib Burn-Off is this weekend at Lake Shore Park

ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — Thousands of people streamed into Lake Shore Park last September for the annual Rib Burn-Off.

This weekend, there’s even more to eat, more to see and more to do to draw the crowds out once again. And, while you are tapping their toes and dancing to live entertainment, or watching the children play in the Kidz Zone, take time to celebrate because it’s the 10th Annual Rib Burn-Off. Free admission and open to the public, starting at 4 p.m. Friday through 8 p.m. Sunday.

“We’re excited because we’ve added something new,” said Lori Zebrasky, administrative assistant and activities director, at the Ashtabula Township Park Commission. “We are having a bike contest Saturday.”

The motorcycle contest will cost bikers $5 to enter, and the categories are metric, American, custom and bagger. Proceeds will go the Edgewood Senior High School cheerleaders.

Zebrasky said she hopes for a big turn-out to support the local school.

For folks who go for the food, Texas Pit, the People’s Choice winner for the past nine years, will be serving up some succulent ribs slathered in their famous barbecue sauce, she said.

But don’t stop there, Texas Pit will be one of five barbecue vendors on site.

A disc golf game also will be going on in the 54-acre park on Saturday for festival goers to watch and enjoy.
