Here’s a new “conspiracy theory” for anyone who is into that sort of stuff – the neo-conservatives are implementing a plan for world domination. The plan is elegant and simple: convince Americans that government, taxes, Congress and Obama are evil. Define the two-party system as “Us Against Them,” then instigate a “search and destroy” mission by news channels who can’t afford reporters because their “talking heads” are paid too much. Sponsor 20 or 30 television debates, led by Wolf Blitzer and/or other high paid celebrities. Donate untold millions to candidates who wouldn’t contradict Rush Limbaugh or Fox News if they reported the weather wrong, and keep the arguments going. Warn everybody of how much danger they’re in, whether they are or not. Having thus encouraged Americans to fight to the death over minor differences of opinion and “the danger they’re in,” sit back and watch America’s enemies laugh themselves to death. Once the enemy is dead, Neocons have won.
But would “their America” resemble what our parents and grandparents worked to build, or look more like the former Yugoslavia, with ever smaller groups destroying anyone who doesn’t agree with them? Once the population got down to married couples who never agreed on anything, maybe Canada would invade, just to get some peace and quiet (sound travels farther in cold air). It would serve us right, eh?
