ANDOVER — Hazel R. Jordan, age 92, of Andover, Ohio, died at her home on Sunday, March 3, 2013, with her family by her side after a brief illness.
She was born on August 12, 1920, in Selma, Ind., a daughter of Rhoda A. (Boots) and Calvin P. McCombs. Mrs. Jordan was a 1938 graduate of Andover High School and in 1940 she married Edward E. Jordan.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Jordan worked for the former Andover A & P and the former Andover Industries.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling with her husband Edward. Mrs. Jordan also liked to sew and make quilts, and take care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of more than fifty years, Edward E. Jordan; an infant daughter, Annetta Jordan; two sisters, Helen Roberts and Marian Shellito; and two brothers, John and Paul McCombs.
Survivors include her daughter, Loretta M. Siekkinen of Andover; a granddaughter, Tina (Tom) Czar of Philipsburg, Pa.; two grandsons, Edward (Mayra) Barber of Hampton, Va., and William (Melissa) Kahl of Andover; and six great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held 12 p.m., Noon, on Saturday, March 9th, at BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE, 134 Prospect St., Andover, with her nephew David Roberts officiating.
Calling Hours will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
