ASHTABULA — Marguerite E. “Peg” Deloria, age 86, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in the Hospice Unit of the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born Dec. 2, 1926, in Geneva, Ohio, she was the daughter of William H. and Emma J. (Oberlin) Kothe. She graduated in 1944 from Platt R. Spencer High School in Geneva. On May 8, 1954, she married Warren L. Deloria in Geneva, Ohio. He passed away on Sept. 12, 1972 at the age of 43. She has lived in Ashtabula for the past 59 years.
Peg was a school secretary at Wallace H. Braden Junior High School in Ashtabula for 25 years, retiring in 1992. Prior to that time, she was a secretary to the Chief Engineer at Timken Brake Division of Rockwell International and to the General Manager of Du-All Manufacturing in Geneva.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church for over 50 years where she belonged to the group of Quilters of the church.
She enjoyed vacations hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Shenandoah National Park; tent camping across the western states; tour bus travel across America; and sewing, knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles and watching sports.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Helen Hoffacker; a brother, William Kothe Jr. of Geneva; and a son-in-law, Mark Clayman of North Kingsville.
Surviving her is a daughter, Carol Deloria Clayman of North Kingsville; a son, Terry (Terri) Deloria of Ashtabula; two granddaughters, Megan (Kenneth II) Montgomery of Columbia Station and Andrea (Joshua) Worth of Michigan; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Salisbury and Dawn Kothe, both of Geneva; nephews, Dennis (Melanie) Hoffacker of Painesville, Gary Hoffacker of Perry and Dale (Cindy) Hoffacker of Perry; niece, Katie (Charlie) Hoffacker of Wickliffe; and great-great-nieces, Jocelyn and Miana Hoffacker, both of Wickliffe.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 25th, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 933 Michigan Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Larry Mackey officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
