SHAKER HEIGHTS — Alexander Charles “Alex” Kimbel, age 28, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012.
The beloved son of Scott and Marianne (Nell) Kimbel, he was born on March 17, 1984, in Ashtabula, Ohio. Alex was a graduate of SSTs. John and Paul High School and was attending Cleveland State University majoring in biological sciences.
Alex received his first communion and confirmation at Mother of Sorrows Church.
Alex was a talented and gifted young man; he enjoyed creative writing, reading; as well as repairing and building computers. He could, through persuasive conversation, convince you to change your mind without even knowing you had done so until he left the room. Alex had a soft spot in his heart for animals, wanting to collect every stray he saw. His cat “Inky” was one of those animals lucky enough to be rescued.
Alex will be remembered as being his own person, not going with the crowd, enjoying life and all that happened in his life. His legacy to his family and friends will be the love that he showed on a daily basis, and was never afraid to give a hug; a kiss, a smile, or wink just to let you know he cared.
Alex is survived by his loving mother, Marianne (Nell) Kimbel of Ashtabula, his loving father, Scott Kimbel of Spring Hill, Tenn.; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Ann Kimbel, and paternal aunt, Julie Kimbel, all of Tennessee; paternal uncle, Jeff Kimbel of Minnesota.; maternal uncles, David (Stella) Nell of South Carolina, and Peter (Kay) Nell of Pennsylvania.; loving cousins; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Ann Nell.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19th, at DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio.
A Calling Hour will be observed from 3 p.m. until time of Service on Wednesday, Dec. 19th, at the Funeral Home.
