ASHTABULA — William “Bill” Moore, age 84, went peacefully home to be with his Lord Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at his home.
Born June 25, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was the son of Henrietta (Facy) Moore and Leslie Moore. Mrs. Moore became Henrietta O’Blisk when she remarried Frank Melvin O’Blisk who then became Bill’s step-father. He lived his younger years in the Columbus and Apple Creek, Ohio, area where he loved sneaking into movie theatres and watching airplanes taking off at the local airport. In 1969 Bill moved to the Ashtabla County area where he lived his remaining years.
Bill retired from Ashcraft Industries where he was a proud employee for many years. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Ashtabula where he loved singing his favorite hymns until his health caused him to no longer be able to attend. He loved his home with his many stuffed animals and other treasured collectables. His favorite activities included watching television, especially soap operas, collecting magazines, especially when given as a gift, attending parties and having special dates with his long-time girlfriend, Loretta Smith.
Bill will be fondly remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his ability to teach patience, and how to enjoy the simple things in life. Bill blessed all those whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held 4:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3rd, at the office of Leeda Northeast, 1545 W. 8th St., Ashtabula, Ohio. Bill will be buried with his mother at Mount Peace Cemetery in Akron, Ohio at a later date.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all those individuals and agencies who served Bill for so many years. He loved them all.
