GENEVA — Max Stanonik, age 95, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Geneva Village Retirement Home.
Born Oct. 3, 1917, in Skofja Loka, Slovenia, to Frances (Kosir) and Frank Stanonik. Max married Frances Kaucic in Cleveland on June 20, 1959.
An area resident since 1959, he worked as a grape farmer on his family farm in Harpersfield. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Geneva and the KSKJ Christ the King Lodge #226 in Cleveland.
He is survived by his brother, Joseph Stanonik of Slovenia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Stanonik; his parents; five brothers; and six sisters.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23rd, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 24th, at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 W. Main St., Geneva, with Committal Services to follow at Alexander Harper Cemetery in Unionville.
