ASHTABULA —
Abby Gail Donathan, age 46, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.
The daughter of John Henry and Margie Thelma (Martin) Donathan, she was born Sept. 9, 1965, in Ashtabula and had remained a lifelong area resident.
Abby enjoyed reading romance novels and watching soap operas. A wonderful cook, her friends and family enjoyed coming to her home for gatherings and eating her cornbread and beans, lasagna, and Swedish meatballs. Her Carmelo bar dessert was the perfect ending to the perfect day. Abby will be remembered for her enthusiasm for life, her ability to see the good in everyone; and her love for her children, grandchildren and her sisters and brothers.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Allen Kidd II, Corey James, Christopher John and Chauncey Arron Kidd, all of Ashtabula; grandchildren, C.J. Kidd and Samara Parmentor; siblings, John Wayne Donathan, May Hills, Kenneth Lee Donathan, all of Ashtabula, Thelma (Keith) Lazanis of North Kingsville and Mary Jo (Mark Spangler) Donathan of Jefferson; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Danny Lee Donathan in infancy in 1956 and Hershal Henry Donathan on Oct. 8, 2010; and her parents, John Henry Donathan on Feb. 6, 1972 and Margie Thelma Donathan on March 28, 2007. Her sister, Goldie Smith died on Monday, August 6, 2012.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, 18th, at DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. Family and friends are encouraged to share their favorite memories of Abby.
