LONDON — Howard R. “Dick” Shoulders, age 84, a former Ashtabula resident, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012, In London, Ohio.
Born in Upsur County, W.Va., he was a World War II era U.S. Army Veteran and graduated from West Virginia University.
Dick achieved the Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and retired from Elkem Metals (formerly of Union Carbide Metals).
He was a loving and dutiful husband and father. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, poetry and hunting. He was happiest when tinkering around the house.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; brothers, Eugene and John; and sister, Margaret Hoover.
Surviving him are his two daughters, Jennifer Tidd and Barbara Shoulders; granddaughter, Jamie (Rodney) Bradford; and great-grandson, Jaxson Bradford.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19th.
