JEFFERSON — Audrey V. Fleming, age 86, died Sunday afternoon, March 14, 2010, at the Jefferson Healthcare Center where she was a resident.


She was born June 22, 1923, in Mineral Ridge, Ohio, the daughter of Burt and Mary (Vandergrift) Henninger and has been a resident of the Jefferson area since 1946, coming from Niles. She was married to Charles E. Fleming on May 9, 1941, in Cortland.


Mrs. Fleming retired in 1983 as a cook at the Ashtabula County Vocational School.


She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading and baking.


Survivors include two children, Audrey A. Brooks and Virginia L. (Richard) Terry, both of Jefferson; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles in 1977; three children, James and Michael Fleming and Janice Kalchert; and 10 brothers and sisters.


No services or calling hours will be held at this time. Graveside Services for the burial of cremains in Oakdale Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
