ASHTABULA — Gary Donald Freeborn Sr., age 51, died unexpectedly Monday, March 8, 2010, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born July 18, 1958, in Ashtabula, he was the beloved son of Robert and Joyce (Baker) Freeborn. He married Rose Loudermilk on Dec. 4, 1976.
He enjoyed NASCAR and cheering for Kevin Harvick, drives in the country with Rose, playing on his Jet Ski, tinkering with cars and caring for his dogs, “Princess and Buddy.” He had a unique sense of humor that some might call warped (others may say, “Where did that come from?”) Gary was the most generous and giving person and thought nothing of giving you his last dollar if you needed it.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; daughters, Kendra (Brian) Bevins of New Lyme and Heather Rene Knam of Ashtabula; son, Gary Freeborn Jr. of Geneva; grandchildren, Wyatt, Gabrielle, Alex, Brandon and Samara; his father, Robert Freeborn Sr. and step-mother, Donna; brother, Robert “Skip” Jr. of Ashtabula; nieces and nephews; and his “special girl”, Hayley Johnston.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce in 1985; his brother, Steven C. Freeborn in June of 2007; his paternal grandparents, Donald V. and Katherine J. Freeborn; and his maternal grandparents, Fred and Annabell Baker.
Family and friends are invited to a gathering at Edgewood Diner Banquet Room, 3010 State Road, Ashtabula, on Tuesday, March 16th, from 6 to 8 p.m., to celebrate and remember Gary’s life.
DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, is in charge of the arrangements.
