SISTERS, Ore. — Linda Louise (Scully) Douthit, wife of David, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, after a four year battle with cancer.

Linda was born Oct. 5, 1946, in Conneaut, Ohio, to Dean (deceased) and Bette Scully of Conneaut.

Linda was a legal secretary in Conneaut before moving to New York City in 1966, where she worked for the D.H. Overmyer Company and met future husband David. Linda and David were married in Conneaut on Dec. 10, 1966 and recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary.

Linda and David raised two daughters, Christine of Seattle, Wash. and Cathleen of Sisters, Ore., who gave them five grandchildren, Grant, Alec, Hogan, Wyatt and Daly.

Linda worked in Tigard, Ore. for Templeton Elementary School as a Library Aide. Upon moving to Black Butte Ranch in 1990, Linda worked as a bookkeeper/receptionist for the Hotel Sisters (now Bronco Billy’s). She was an active member of St. Edward the Martyr R.C. Church in Sisters.

Perhaps, Linda’s greatest joy was being a grandmother. She cherished every moment she spent with her grandchildren, and was selflessly dedicated to their needs. She shined brightest when attending their activities, playing games or carefully supervising them at the park.

Linda is survived by her husband, David; two daughters, Christine and Cathleen; her mother, Bette Scully of Conneaut, Ohio; brother, Larry (Joe) Scully of Kipton, Ohio; as well as her five grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Feb. 22nd, at St. Edward the Martyr R.C. Church in Sisters, Ore.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Edward the Martyr R.C. Church in Sisters, Ore. 97759.
