CONNEAUT —
Dale G. Hoskins, age 54, of Conneaut, Ohio, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, August 25, 2010, at UH Conneaut Medical Center of an apparent coronary.
He was born Sept. 11, 1955, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Wesley Elman “Ike” and Margaret (Holdson) Hoskins.
He was an electrician by trade and had worked for True Temper Corp., The Pittsburgh & Conneaut Dock Company and McVoy Electric. He then partnered with Michael Legeza in founding Harbor Electric, Inc. in Conneaut. Later he purchased Lake Plastics of Linesville, Pa. and combined the companies to form Harbor Industrial Corporation, Inc., a manufacturing company.
He was a member of New Leaf United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sailing in his youth, woodworking and remodeling. He was a hard-working man and a very proud father.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer (Quiggle) Hoskins whom he married June 28, 1980; son, Thor Q. Hoskins (a.k.a. “Roy” to his Dad) of Walnut Creek, Calif.; his mother, Margaret Hoskins of Conneaut; sister, Linda (Mark) Kauppila of North Kingsville, Ohio; two brothers, Phillip Hoskins of Conneaut and Thomas (Marilou) Hoskins of Elizabeth City, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Kenneth (Kalan) Hoskins, Susan Hoskins, Jon Hoskins, Matthew (Abby) Kauppila and Katie (Scott) Runyan; five great-nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Heidi Quiggle (Robert Stocker) and Pam Quiggle (Belinda Bungert).
He was preceded in death by his father in 2006.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, August 30th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with Pastor Jan Walsh, of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will take place at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 31th, in East Conneaut Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of Service, Monday, at the Funeral Home.
