ASHTABULA —
Lyle Ernest Biddinger, age 71, died unexpectedly, Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
The son of Paul and Almeta (Wolfe) Biddinger, he was born on Nov. 12, 1940, in Elyria, Ohio and had been an area resident for over fifty-five years. He and the former Frances Phillips were married on August 5, 1961 and had just celebrated fifty-one years of love and friendship.
Lyle was employed by Ashtabula Rubber for forty-two years as a production manager. He loved his job and remained friends with his fellow employees after his retirement. As far as Lyle was concerned, any day was a good day as long as you could play golf. He spent many hours perfecting his game on the local courses, as well as spending countless hours working in his yard enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
Lyle enjoyed going to car shows and traveling to Florida every winter with his wife, Frances. He was also a member of Ashtabula Elks Lodge #208. A man of great generosity, and kindness, Lyle never knew a stranger and was always willing to help anyone. His love of family and friends was extraordinary.
A wonderful husband, dad and papa, he will be remembered for his wonderful work ethic, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren, his strength and courage during his illness and his unconditional love for his family.
Lyle is survived by his beloved wife, Frances Phillips Biddinger; their children, Mary (Kevin) Beardsley and Kevin Biddinger, both of Ashtabula; loving grandchildren, Elizabeth and Michael Beardsley, also of Ashtabula; and brothers, Ernest (Tricia) Ebel and Timothy (Tammy) Altomare, both of Wakeman, Ohio.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 13th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with Father Charles Poore, of Saint Andrews Catholic Church, presiding. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Ashtabula.
Calling Hours will be observed from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12th, at the Funeral Home.
If desired, contributions in Lyle’s name may be made to the National Lymphoma Society, 115 Broadway Suite #1301, New York, N.Y. 10006.
