BAZETTA —
Roger Roy Reel Sr., age 70, of Bazetta, died on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at his residence.
He was born June 13, 1941, in Champion, Ohio, a son of the late Fred L. Reel and the late Vivian Logan Reel. Roger grew up and spent his whole life in Bazetta and attended the Bazetta (Lakeview) Schools.
He worked as a Central Office Specialist Technician for the Sprint United Telephone Company for 41 years.
Roger enjoyed working on his family farmstead and spending time with his three granddaughters who he affectionately called his “Angels”.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn “Kay” Kemp Reel, whom he married on Oct. 19, 1963 and spent 48 wonderful years with; three sons, Jeremy (Lisa) Reel, Roger Reel Jr. and Randy (Deb) Reel; his three granddaughters, Miranda, Mariah and Maria; and a grandson, Roger Reel III.
He will be greatly and sadly missed by his family, his dogs, “Clifford and Pee Wee” and his pet goose, “Lola.”
Roger was preceded in death by a brother, Nelson Reel; and a grandson, Ryland Reel.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7th, at SHAFER-WINANS FUNERAL CHAPEL in Cortland.
Per his wishes, private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Cortland.
