CLEVELAND — Lawrence A. “Larry” Repko Sr., age 67, a resident of Madison, Ohio, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Wade Park Veterans Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, after a brief illness.


Born August 22, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Jean H. (Romacan) and Andrew J. Repko.


Larry was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked over 20 years for Conrail and retired from PCC Airfoil in Willoughby. He was a member of several area chess clubs in Ashtabula and Cleveland and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed woodworking and worked out regularly at Bally Fitness Center in Willoughby. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. He will be greatly missed.


He is survived by his companion, Carmen Laurich of Madison; two sons, Larry (Fran) Repko Jr. of Madison and Pete (Debbie) Repko of Painesville; two daughters, Marlene Harrison of Madison and Allison (Mark) Leopold of Painesville Township; grandchildren, Andy (Alicia) Repko, Corey, Luke, Larry III, Logan, Alicia and Jordan Repko, Jacob Holder, Joshua, Eli, Catherine and Ben Harrison, Rachael, Zachary, Andrew and Aidan Leopold; great-grandchildren, Ava and A.J. Repko; and sister, Sandra (Bill) Healy of Naples, Fla.


He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Abigail Leopold.


Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 25th, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison, Ohio. Burial will be at Madison Memorial Cemetery, Arcola Road, Madison.


Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 24th, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio, with a Memorial Celebration at 7 p.m.
