JEFFERSON — Services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 25th, at the LANE FUNERAL HOME Austintown Chapel for Shirley Rapp, age 82, of Jefferson, formerly of Austintown, who passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 22, 2009, at Jefferson Health Care Center.
Shirley was born August 24, 1927, in Cortland, the daughter of John and Alberta (Hedge) Myers. She was a graduate of Cortland High School (Lakeview High School) and attended Youngstown College for 2 years.
Shirley was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She was a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown. Her hobbies included ceramics and spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley also enjoyed spending time with her cats, most recently Mittens.
Her husband, Leo B. Rapp whom she married August 17, 1949, passed away Dec. 2, 1986.
Shirley leaves two children, Darlene (Carl) Oxley of Pierpont and Tim (Christina) Rapp of Middletown, Md.; and seven grandchildren, Jennifer and Christina Oxley of Pierpont, Rachel, Zachary, Caleb, David and Jason Rapp, all of Middletown, Md.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Leo.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 24th, at the funeral home.
